We like to quote the verse in Deuteronomy 28:13, that talks about being the head and not the tail; in the bible. But, do we read, and listen to the voice of God in that passage with understanding. Jesus, spoke about the different types ground that represent people who use their abilities, and talents to be successful, and people who do not. These teachings reveal that God is interested in our lives--what we do, and the effect that we have on the world around us; as we come to understand that God wants us to be a resource to others, and not be dependent on others, having no influence or effect.
God made it clear that we all have a purpose, and that He intended for us to lead in our thinking, creativity, and professions. We should be the first to start businesses--be the first to respond to needs--be the first to come up with solutions that help, and benefit humanity, with the talents, and abilities He's given us.
As individuals, we can be the head in our vocations, classes, neighborhoods, and the things we are involved with in life. Our attitude should be the head and not a tail, of peace, joy, and confidence; we should be the head because we have the nature of the one who is our head.
